High-Resolution 360° Imaging

Our cutting-edge technology enables us to capture unparalleled 360° images of the highest quality and resolution. We offer tailored resolutions ranging from megapixels to gigapixels. We capture ground 360° images both indoors and outdoors. High Dynamic Range comes as a standard for all our 360° images. We also specialize in capturing in extreme low light conditions with very low or even no ambient light.

Aerial Imaging

The bird´s-eye view is simply the best way to get a global overview of your site. SimpleVis offers high-resolution aerial 360° images and orthophotos, either one of which is an essential starting point for most site-wide virtual tours. Our aerial services also include supplementary videos and individual photos.

Virtual Site Tours

Whether your primary application is training, facility management, or something else, SimpleVis can build a virtual tour with interactive features and embedded multimedia. Thanks to its versatile and compatible HTML format, our virtual tours can be accessed from different devices and platforms as well as integrated into existing systems. Additionally, our 360° images are supported by the VR experience.

Use Cases

Our versatile high-resolution 360° imaging technology deployed in various industries.

Training

Create interactive training content for site/workplace orientation, operator training, maintenance personnel training, contractor training, facilitation of pre-/post- job briefs, situational awareness training, and more. The technology allows for immersive and interactive learning experiences, improving knowledge retention.

Remote ...

... visits,
... inspections,
... supervision,
... instructions,
 and more.

For example, in construction, architects and engineers can use high-resolution 360° images to remotely inspect and supervise work progress.

Evidence

Capture detailed evidence for physical configuration management audits, site/workplace handover, and work performed by contractors. For example, 360° images can be used to document the condition of a facility before and after a modification. Additionally, 360° images can be used to document the completion of specific tasks or milestones, such as the installation of equipment or the completion of a particular phase of a project, providing clear and irrefutable evidence of work completed by contractors.

Facility management

Efficiently monitor the condition and performance of each site. Quickly and easily identify issues and opportunities, and see details in high-resolution. 360° imaging allows for easy sharing of the facility´s layout and condition with various stakeholders, which aids in the planning and logistics.

Presentation & Marketing

Create engaging and informative visual aids for presentations of facilities, products, and services, providing an ultra-detailed and interactive experience for viewers. Showcase your company´s capabilities, strengths, and experience to potential clients, authorities, visitors, and other stakeholders.

Preserving important information

Preserve important information for future use, whether it is for future lifecycle phases of an industrial facility or for the preservation of a heritage site. 360° images can be used to document the detailed as-built configuration of a facility and preserve it for reference during plant modifications, and later during decommissioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contemporary standard company IT systems and equipment (incl. laptops and mobile devices) are suitable for browsing SimpleVis-produced content. We deliver the content in HTML5 format unless otherwise agreed. This can be easily browsed across different devices and operating systems using a regular web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.).

The preferred way of storing the delivered files is on client´s internal or public web server (suitable for a large number of users, easy to update thanks to single sourcing). Our delivery can also be in form of a standalone app - suitable for small businesses and individuals or where high information security is required (also a suitable solution for offline devices). In some cases it may be possible to host the content on our web servers. Across our processes, we do not use any proprietary platform and hence there are no monthly subscriptions nor other recurring fees. Once the content is delivered it is only client´s decision how to use and distribute it - with no limitations.

The size of the final data package is approximately 300MB for each 1000Mpx (1Gpx) of resolution. So for example a set of 20 images at 1,5Gpx resolution each, will require approximately 9GB of storage.
(just for your interest, the amount of raw captured data is approximately 30x more than that and the amount of data during image processing is approximately 500x more than the size of the final data package - but you don´t need to worry about these numbers at all, that´s a one time process that SimpleVis does for you.)

Browsing speed is dependent on the used IT server components and available bandwidth. Check out our examples in the Demo section where you can experience what the typical response rate and browsing speed is. Considering the contemporary IT equipment, the loading will not take more than loading of your favorite news website. The speed of browsing is not dependent on the number of images nor on their resolution.

SimpleVis operates in the English language, but the content can always be localized to the client´s preferred language, such as in textboxes used in Virtual Tours. We do not have strict borders for our business area. While our main operating area is Finland, Nordic countries, and Europe, we are open to collaborating globally.

SimpleVis uses no proprietary software solutions. We are equipped to handle the information security requirements of individual clients, particularly those in heavily regulated industries. We never use cloud storage or cloud processing. All storage and processing is done on local workstations secured with latest F-Secure protection. For the highest level of information security, we can store and fully process all data in the client´s IT environment, ensuring that no information or memory card ever leaves the client´s premises. We have absolutely full control over all data and processing, providing image quality, flexibility, functionality, and information security.

We are accustomed to working under Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA).

We primarily control our cameras at clients´ sites via a Wi-Fi link, which is suitable for most plant areas where mobile phones, walkie-talkies, Wi-Fi, and other common communication systems are allowed. Alternatively, we can operate our equipment in full manual and local hardware button mode with all wireless communication disabled, minimizing potential Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) with plant I&C systems.

Please note that our equipment is currently not ATEX qualified for use in explosive atmospheres.

Once on-site, our automated technology allows us to capture tens of gigapixel resolution 360° images during one day shift (8-12 hours). Depending on the complexity of the site, light conditions, and difficulty of access. Capturing one single gigapixel (1000+ Mpx) resolution 360° image typically takes a few minutes.

In most cases, we deliver the final package of data to the client within a few weeks after the acquisition. In some cases it may be possible to deliver the final HTML package on the same day at the site.

Pricing is very individual. There are many factors that influence the pricing, besides the capture and processing time. It may include costs related to specific information security requirements, the presence of various hazards at the site, the need for special permits at the site, the location of the site, and the required level of post-processing (simple gallery of individual 360° images, interactive virtual tour, or other functionality, etc.)

SimpleVis is ready to offer the right image resolution for your needs. In principle, we offer 360° images with resolutions ranging from tens of megapixels to several gigapixels.

As a standard, we capture your site in a high dynamic range and use lossless image file formats during the entire sequence of image processing, with the exception of the final export into a high-quality JPEG for compatibility with fast web-based browsing.

Every plant undergoes modifications and changes, and SimpleVis is prepared for that. We offer updates on different levels of detail, depending on your specific needs. With all our clients we aim to build long-term fruitful collaboration and updates are an essential part of that.
